Annual Day 2022-223

Date of event: January - 2023

Description :

“What makes a child gifted and talented may not always be good grades, but a different way of looking at the world and learning.”

A school’s academic year is filled with many opportunities of learning in different forms and an Annual day celebration is a culmination of all the events that form an integral part of school activity. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, and festivity when students present wonderful performances with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Having another year to cherish, The HDFC School, Bengaluru celebrated its Annual Day on Friday, 16 December, 2022 rejoicing the achievement of another milestone.

It was a breathtaking moment for everyone as the most awaited evening began. It commenced with welcoming our esteemed dignitaries and parents, followed by the auspicious lighting of the lamp by our dignitaries Mr.Nagendra, Mr.KP Agarwal and Principal Ms.Parvathy Seshadri, thus igniting the light of true spirit, purity and prosperity. Our beloved Principal addressed the gathering while taking pride in reading the school annual report and articulating the feats and triumphs achieved through the academic year.

When music becomes the essence of life, it leads to the joy of living. The Hindustani classical rendition by the school choir on the song ‘Asatoma Sat Gamaya’ created an enchanting aura, setting a perfect start to the cultural extravaganza. The perennial existence of music and its spiritual spirit was truly exhibited in the perfect orchestration of the song ‘As We Gather ‘by the budding band members of the school.

The students of Grades III to IX set pace to the evening and enthralled the audience by performing Pushpanjali which is the first dance in a Bharatnatyam performance – a salutation to the lord of dance Nataraja, the Guru, the musicians and the audience.

“You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honour”

The soul of the day’s celebration was a musical drama based on the ancient Greek epic ‘Iliad – The ties of Fate’. The Iliad is considered to be one of the earliest masterworks of world literature and it was enormously influential in Greek and Roman though and in all the later societies influenced by the classical Mediterranean world.

It was enthralling to watch our budding actors perform on stage, leaving us awestruck, as they precisely donned the innate qualities of every character from the epic. The punchy dialogues and the colorful dances by the students were an exhilarating experience for the audience. The colorful props, costumes, stage set up and the synchronized movements of the students kept the audience captivated throughout the evening.

The annual day was a mark of excellence where our talented students showcased a mesmerizing show. It was overwhelming to witness parents continuously cheer for their children with thunderous applauds keeping them motivated to do their best. The grandeur of the finale left the audience fascinated making the whole gathering an outstanding visual treat and a day to remember.
