The spirit of Karnataka came alive as our school celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event, organised to honour the formation of the state on November 1, was a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and unity.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the Karnataka state flag, accompanied by the soulful rendition of the state anthem, "Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate," and the prayer ‘Hachevu Kannada Deepa’ filling the air with pride and patriotism.
Students performed a variety of cultural programs that highlighted Karnataka's rich heritage. Traditional folk dances like Hulivesha, Yakshagana, Kodava Valaga and Kolata were performed with energy and grace, showcasing the state's diverse art forms. Students expressed their love for the language, and its culture and appreciated the contributions of the state's great leaders and artists through fancy dress, skit and dance performances.
The event also featured a special address by the school principal, who emphasised the importance of preserving and celebrating our linguistic and cultural heritage. The vibrant decorations, including rangoli designs and posters of iconic Kannada figures, added to the festive atmosphere.

Students from each class worked collaboratively to design and decorate their boards, bringing the festive spirit of Diwali to life. Every decoration item—rangoli patterns, diyas, paper lanterns, and intricate designs—was crafted by the students themselves, embracing the essence of creativity and teamwork. Teachers provided minimal guidance, allowing the students to take the lead and showcase their artistic flair. The classrooms were transformed with vibrant colors, traditional symbols, and thoughtful displays, celebrating Diwali's themes of light, hope, and togetherness. This student-driven competition not only brought out their artistic skills but also enhanced their team spirit and enthusiasm for cultural celebrations.

An interactive session was conducted with the Director and Chief Strategy Officer, Mindlr, Mr Prikshit Dhanda, with the students of The HDFC School from grades IX to XII, in the presence of our principal, Mrs. Parvathy Seshadri.
Mr Dhanda is an accredited MBTI & FIRO- B practitioner and has blended the use of these instruments in training sessions for teachers , principals and corporate executives all over the world. His insights are highly instrumentative in constructing a firm base for a student as well as any individual looking to build further into their career. His students are well-known founders, country heads, senior executives , and esteemed professionals. Professionally trained from Harvard University, Mr Dhanda, holds an experience of training over two million students in a span of two decades.
Our esteemed speaker took time to answer each student diligently and the students came up with insightful questions pertaining to their career and other prospects. Whilst a few opted to stay, and pursue their careers in the country, others opted to pursue it overseas, to which Mr Dhanda offered functional solutions and combinations of streams. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session. The parents of the students of the HDFC school were present too, who enquired about their own queries , in order to better guide their children.
It was a rather spirited session, with students and teachers and parents together formulating ways to build and find a better future for the students.

The HDFC School, Bengaluru, hosted their first Inter-school chess tournament on 31 January and 1 February, 2023 in the school campus to provide a platform to students to improve their logical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem solving. Around 44 students from 6 schools participated in the event. The hall was buzzing with excitement of students.
The Chief Arbiter, Mr. Vasanth B H and Deputy Arbiter, Ms. Swapna Shivakumar judged the event. It was indeed heart-warming to see the children playing like stalwarts with rapt concentration and collected demeanour.

Bringing this into reality, our children of Pre-primary at The HDFC School, Bengaluru, decided to say a big ‘Thank you’ to the helpers of our school as we celebrated ‘Thanksgiving Day’ for our school’s community helpers on 19 January, 2023.
Children across the grades from Nursery to UKG invited the school’s housekeeping, nannies, transport lady cares, driver, gardener and security to visit their respective classrooms. The students took the initiative to appreciate the efforts of our helpers by singing a motivating and thanking song for them. A “Thank You note” was written by each student and handed over to all the helpers.
Children also paid a visit to the Principal’s Office, Coordinator’s Office and the Admin. office to thank them for all the things they do for the smooth functioning of the school.
Overall, it was a commendable gesture by our children as they spread a message of being thankful in society.
